Key Project:
Crescent Yacht Club Jr. Sailing Division Center
The Junior Division Sailing Program was created in 1931 to extend the opportunity for young people from ages 7 through 18 to enjoy swimming, water safety, and sailing activities. Each summer the program runs from June 29th through August 14th and provides full-tuition scholarships for 2 students to attend the program for the entire summer.
Aubertine and Currier provided Professional Design Services for the new 1,800 SF CYC Junior Division Community Sailing Building located next to the CYC Yacht Club. The 30’ x 60’ building houses a games area, kitchen, office and workshop, and separate men’s and women’s bathrooms, showers, and locker room areas. The building was designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, including sailing school, community gatherings, and program award ceremonies.
Civil/Site work to support the new building and sailing program included concrete head wall for docks, rip rap protection along the shoreline, boat launch installation, electric connection to docks, fuel system and dispenser, in addition to Site/Grading/Utility Plan, and Site Details for construction.
