Otter Creek Preservation Nature Trail

Aubertine and Currier was contracted by the Thousand Islands Land Trust to perform Survey, Structural and Civil/Site Engineering Services for the development of nature trails on their 100-plus-acre Otter Creek property.  Services included the design of eight trail segments totaling over 1.4 miles through forests, meadows, wetlands, and upland habitats.  Trails included a 1,600’ wood chip mulch walking trail, a 1,500’ stone dust trail designed as accessible per NYS DEC ADA Accessibility Standards for Outdoor Recreation Facilities, an 840’ by 12’ wide crushed stone driveway, 60’ by 80’ crushed stone parking area, entrance sign, a 2 sided kiosk with a roof, a steel cable suspension wood pedestrian bridge, and a 2-story wooden platform wildlife observation tower.
