Key Project:
SUNY Potsdam Pedestrian Walkway and Bridge

A&C was retained by SUNY Potsdam to provide Land Surveying and Enginnering services for this project that seeks to enhance safety by providing a safe access route for pedestrians traveling to the Potsdam campus from the SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center, Potsdam Partnerships Center, and other student housing located on the other side of Outer Main Street.
The project inlcudes:
- 600' x 6' sidewalk extension connecting Outer Main Street, Barrington Drive and main campus
- New crosswalk, walkways and curbs to connect the Crane School of Music parking lot with Barrington Drive and Outer Main Street
- Installation of high visibility LED pedestrian crossing signs for the unsignalized intersection on the western and eastern sides of Outer Main Street
- Accessible curbs design for Crane School of Music's Parking Lot #9
- Construction of a 22' x 8' steel pedestrian bridge over an existing drainage channel to support the walkway extension
All new walks were designed to meet ADA, ABA, and PROWAG accessibility criteria to ensure safe travel for all SUNY Potsdam’s pedestrians.
