Key Project:
Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Squad Facility
Since its founding in 2001, The Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Squad (TIERS) has had the vision of owning a building that would meet the needs of a modern emergency medical services agency.
A&C provided Professional Design Services for a modern 8,000 SF facility for the medical services agency, which provides the highest level of professional emergency medical care available in the region with on-duty paramedic level responders available 24/7. The agency has received recognition for its high-quality emergency care and innovation and is a past recipient of the prestigious Emergency Medical Services Agency of the Year Award from the NYS Department of Health.
Working closely with the members of TIERS, A&C's architectural department created a design that meet the functional needs of the staff and volunteers, blends in well with the Clayton community and will serve as the headquarters for TIERS well into the future.
The new facility features a Pre-engineered Steel Structure garage area allowing TIERS to comfortably fit four ambulances and one fly car inside the building, as well as a decontamination room and a room for O2 storage. The wood-framed office and administration section of the building will house a reception area, offices for the executive director/EMS chief and operations chief, three bunk rooms, a data/communications office, a large training room, an on-duty lounge, and kitchen with dining area.
