Walker Center for Cancer Care Infrastructure and Utility Upgrades

Aubertine and Currier provided Civil Engineering and Land Surveying services for the 17,000 SF expansion of Samaritan Medical Center’s (SMC) Comprehensive Care Center.
Services for the project included:
- Demolition of 400 LF of water main serving two building wings
- Removal of 250 LF of storm sewer
- Relocation of a 10,000-gallon underground diesel tank
- Installation of a new sanitary sewer lateral connection
- Construction of 240 LF of 8" water main and 500 linear LF of storm sewer
- Reconfiguration and reconnection to two underground stormwater management systems
- Construction of three parking lots and new concrete walks and curbs
- Landscape and lawn restoration
Considerable attention was paid to ensure the civil/site design aligned with SMC’s brand identity and was sustainability completed, prioritizing stormwater management and environmental impact mitigation throughout design and construction.
The expansion earned the 2019 CNY AIA Merit Award for Design and Planning.
