Key Project:

Watertown Savings Bank - Clayton Branch

Clayton, NY

A&C provided Professional Design Services for the new WSB Clayton Branch. A&C worked closely with WSB through each phase of the project, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. The 3,200 sf two-story banking facility was constructed on the same site where the original bank was located on James Street in the Village of Clayton.

The bank's exterior architectural details were designed to blend in well with the local community, while also complementing the historical elements of the Village. The building features a cyber café area for clients to enjoy, which includes a relaxed ambiance achieved by providing comfortable seating, internet access, and a fireplace.

The interior also features the WSB signature curved teller line. The building is handicap accessible with an interior elevator to bring clients upstairs, where the community conference room is located. The conference room has ample windows to view the beautiful St. Lawrence River. As a convenience to its clients, the bank now has a four-lane drive-thru service that includes a bypass lane, ATM, and drop box.

A&C’s Civil Engineering and Land Survey departments worked together to develop site improvements for the new bank, prepare site plans, Village Special Use Site Plan Permit applications, and meet the requirements of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR). The civil engineering department designed and reconfigured the expanded 9,000 sf asphalt parking area, access drives, 3 drive-thru teller lanes, bypass lane, concrete walk, site lighting, grading, drainage, generator, and new water, sewer, electric, and communication utility services. The survey department performed a boundary survey mapping of the existing property and adjacent acquired property. Topographic and utility survey mapping of the site was completed, as well as the construction layout of the building and site improvements.
